Risk Management Education Grant
Qualifying Fund members can apply for up to $5,000 in grants to support employee education in risk management.

About the Grant
The TASB Risk Management Fund is offering grants up to $1,500 to further the education of employees who support risk management efforts in member organizations. Applicants will choose a class from the pre-selected course list or submit a request for consideration for an unlisted training course.
Eligibility: Members may submit more than one application and training should align with a members’ coverage with the Fund. If you don't know which coverages you have, contact Casey Burkhart.
Coverage: Grants will be awarded to cover the cost of approved courses or training programs related to risk management. Professional association or other industry conference fees are not eligible for the grant.
Examples of Courses and Providers:
- OSH Standards - General Industry (OSHA 511) – Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX)
- Driver Trainer Academy – Texas Association for Pupil Transportation (TAPT)
- Facilities Management Coursework – Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO)
- HR Academy – Texas Association of School Boards, HR Services
Important Dates:
- March 10, 2025: Application opens
- May 19, 2025: Application closes
- By June 2, 2025: Final notification of awards
- October 31, 2025: Deadline to complete courses and submit receipts
How to Apply for the Grant
Grant applications open March 10. In the application, you will be asked to identify the training objective and the provider from a pre-selected course list. Or you may describe the course, provider, cost, and how the training will address risk management objectives in your organization.
Grant Administration
- Applicants will be notified if they received a grant within two weeks of applying. All applicants should be notified by June 2.
- The course(s) must be completed, and receipts submitted by October 31, 2025.
