TASB Risk Management Fund Board Elects New Trustees 

The Texas Association of School Boards Risk Management Fund is pleased to announce the election of two new members to the TASB Risk Management Fund Board of Trustees: Dr. Tory Hill of Channelview ISD, and James Morris of Alpine ISD. The election took place during the Fund Board's November 2024 meeting and Dr. Hill and Mr. Morris joined the Board during the Board’s most recent meeting in February. 

Dr. Tory Hill has served as the superintendent of Channelview ISD since February 1, 2022. Prior to his tenure in Channelview, he served as superintendent of Sweeny ISD for five years, where he was nominated for Superintendent of the Year in Region 4 in 2020. Channelview ISD participates in five of the Fund’s programs and has been a continuous member of the Fund for almost 30 years.     

James Morris is a native of Alpine, TX, and has served as a school board member for Alpine ISD since 2021. In addition to his role on the school board, Mr. Morris has spent 22 years with the Texas Department of Public Safety, contributing valuable experience in both education and public service. Alpine ISD’s has been a continuous member of the Fund since 2003 and currently participates in all of the Fund’s programs.  

These two new trustees bring a wealth of experience and knowledge from their districts to the TASB Risk Management Fund, supporting its mission to provide comprehensive risk solutions for Texas public schools.
